Fred runs a limited company and a sole trader business both related to pharmacy education and regulation. The business has been established 10 years and I have been working with him since December 2015 when he urgently needed a replacement bookkeeper to catch up on his accounts and submit a VAT Return.
We decided to switch to Xero cloud accounting software to go paperless, automate the bank feeds and to generate high quality invoices. It was a time investment to switch over from the SAGE desktop and Word generated invoices system. Fred has benefited from having a much less manual accounts process and finds Xero very easy to use.
Each month I process the businesses purchases, reconcile the bank account transactions, assign the inter-company transactions and run Fred’s payroll. As we can both see the same information it is simple to deal with the majority of queries electronically. We meet quarterly to complete the VAT returns. In addition I provide the required information to Fred’s accountants so they can prepare the year end accounts.
