The Aviary is an independent illustration and print design house. It has many ways of receiving money with different charging structures and there are a lot of cash transactions. Victoria, the business owner, was finding it very challenging to keep on top of all the paperwork required and to monitor the business performance. We created a new Xero accounts package and re-designed a number of processes. We linked Xero to the cash and card payment system she has, made use of the Xero mobile app to record cash expenses as they happen and created sales invoices for the different customers and uploaded the relevant screen prints and paperwork. We also created project tracking for recording the different sales types.
All of this work has streamlined and defined the necessary processes and minimised paper records. Victoria wanted to do her own bookkeeping and so I provided two training sessions and comprehensive documentation to give Victoria the skills to run her own bookkeeping in Xero.
